Got myself the triton fethead for my SM58. Figured it was overkill, but consoled myself on that if I wanted to switch it up to the pod mic in the future, it'd be all ready to go! :D

Oh man, I just purchased this mic today from Best Buy for my son. It was either this one or Blue Yeti from research I did. Didn't want to spend too much bc I don't know how serious he is.

No lifter is needed with the Elgato Wave XLR, also do not use phantom power on your dynamic microphones (only use it with a lifter), for a cheap lifter, the "In-line Microphone Pream, Mic Booster Preamplifier for Dynamic and Passive Ribbon Microphones"

I had the rode podmic for a year now and for most of the year I used it without a preamp and it wasn't bad but when I got surgery talking into mic was stressing out my body so I recently got a Manayo mic preamp and it makes speaking into the mic easier for me and if I upgrade to a sm7b I have something that helps boost the gain

Definitely need a cloud lifter, I have a Podmic that i use with a Rodecaster and it’s very low

Is there any audio interface below 150$ that would power the Podmic without needing a fethead/cloud lifter? Something with maybe 65db+?
