I have a convent near my house. Those ladies do appear to have a happy life. No men are allowed inside, not even priests. Hahha

I feel this so hard. Reminds me of a conversation I had as a kid. When I was in first grade, my father asked me who I would marry if I could marry anyone in my class. I said "no one." He insisted, "but if had to marry one of them." I named one of my female friends. He asked if I was lesbian and wanted to marry a woman, and I was like, no, dad, I'm SIX, I don't want to marry ANYONE!

Honestly it's so sad that, at such a young age, afab people are already knowing (and often dreading) that they'll be pressured to marry a man and have his babies.

I'm 23 now, in love with a man and want to marry him and adopt kids with him someday, which is fine, because it's my choice.

I dunno. I just think it's screwed up that people push the idea of straight marriage, or any marriage really, on literal children.

Guess lots of us went to the "being a nun so I don't have to be with a man" phase

I decided at 8 that I was going to swear an oath at a temple and become a monk so I never had to have sex with anyone. I'm 23 and I still don't want to have sex with anyone lol

This reminds me of my mum, every time I come in with a guy she immediately ships me with them and asks me if I like them.. Then whenever I mention how hot I find girls, she completely ignores it. She thinks being bi is not trustworthy and stuff and she’s completely against it-

Same. I thought I was just a late bloomer, then eventually I started to think there was something wrong with me. Well, turns out I'm just ace. Of course, my mother and one of my best friends who I referred to as my soul sister did not support me at all. My mother threatened to take my phone away (I don't get how that would change anything tho??) And my friend tried desperately for nearly 2 hours to convince me that I wasn't and had just pounced on a random label I found online. Sheesh.

But my other best friend has always supported me from the start and I'm ever so grateful for her.

my parents were strict with me around boys. they'd tell me "no boys in sleepovers" or "how many guys are in the party??".

but they never questioned me when i was with ✨the girls✨

Same, I thought I was asexual for years because apparently teenage me would rather have not had sex at all than admit to myself that I’m a whole lesbian lol 😅🤦🏾‍♀️

When I was 5 I wanted to marry my brother because I thought getting married was compulsory.
"Hey wanna marry me so I can be married without actually being married? We can live our own lives"
"Ok"

Guess who still can't understand romance or develop romantic feelings at 20.
