“I guess for me, This Is What You Wanted, it’s quite an ambiguous track, but that for me, it’s quite a simple thing. It’s a song about not blaming other people for your own mistakes. I’m kind of talking to myself in this song. I feel sorry for people who haven’t discovered Placebo. Their music borders onto something spiritual almost. It reaches the soul, and comes from the soul. It sounds like the universe, it sounds like life and death and every emotion and experience in between thrown into some vibrations you can hear. It’s ethereal.

I am 62 and have been listening to Placebo for years also been lucky to see them 3 times, got my tickets booked for 22nd November. The new album is absolutely amazing, i keep finding new energy in the tracks each time I listen, but this is what you wanted is my wow track, just WOW. Thanks Placebo for giving me something to keep me going.

I absolutely love this song. I bought the record almost immediately. My brother introduced me to them years ago and I absolutely see why he loves their music. This song, as well as Beautiful James, really speak to me.
