I want to thank you Mike. I was in a situation where I had to move halfway across the country from Florida to Texas. Everything changed. Everything was different and even a tad bit scary. Texas is lovely and the people are great, just uncomfortable not knowing anyone or anywhere, no friends, etc. Then I turn on a That Chapter video, and I feel calm, at home, familiar. A familiar face and voice. Thanx for being a consistent part of my ever changing life. 🙏 What you do matters!!😊OK: The amount of people who don’t know basic geography is really discouraging!! From one side of the country to the other coming from Florida is Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, TEXAS, New Mexico, Arizona, California.. Tell me how Texas isn’t half way!? IT IS.

Important fact of finding Birgit was that her brother never gave up on her. After he retired from a high rank police job, he built a special unit and worked on that cold case. The house was sold and the new owners let them dig in the Garage. So the brother found his missing sister …😢

Great to hear a story from Germany. Birgit’s brother was a policeman who spent his whole career on trying to find his sister. He never gave up on her. If it wasn’t for him I think her whereabouts would still be a mystery.

Smooth transition there. "Considering the awful stuff I keep telling you can happen in the woods, you should be interested in this energizing drink so you can run faster than the guy behind you." Very smooth. 🤣 Seriously, excellent episode!

I miss watching this with my girl. Next month will be 2 yrs since she passed away. We had 11 years. This was our favorite show to watch together. Now I watch it in her memory, It's all I have left of her. 😔

Your delivery of true crime is so perfect. You remain caring and kind yet you add a lighthearted element to the cases. This makes the content much easier to digest. The Comedic relief is so nice. Thanks for all you do Mike!

Regarding the 2nd murder, Imagine finding out your spouse was murdered but also finding out they were out there having an affair. That would be the absolute worst!

You rock Mike. Some tongue and cheek admidst the misery and just all-around enjoyable storytelling. These monsters have to be born wrong, somehow. You don't learn this horror. They have it mastered by the time they can make decisions for themselves.

That retro clip of the television documentary made me feel oddly nostalgic. It’s what I grew up with but I didn’t notice at the time how distinctly defining they were of the era. It’s a great touch, a That Chapterism. That’s why I’ve been such a consistent fan of this channel.

I've been in hospital 13 out of the last 18 months, in solo rooms, and TC is one of the few reasons I care what day it is. You're better than Pavlova Saturday, Mike!

It's heartbreaking to see a mother cry, but earth-shattering to hear a big tough guy break down. Something about it just expresses the level pain.

Good job on the Nahanni Valley story. You’re 100% right, very often stories like this get, shall we say, stretched, beyond the original reality. I wouldn’t call myself a “woodsman”, but I’ve spent a fair amounts of time in nature, and the account of finding the two headless corpses after 3 years, completely intact except for the missing skulls, really doesn’t hold water. In a wild area like that, so much available meat would never have been wasted by the creatures that call it home. The scavengers would have gnawed and scattered the bones. The body lying headless with the arm outstretching for the weapon he wasn’t able to reach, the ring still on his finger, makes a great story, but just is something that’s not congruent with reality. But people are always more attracted to a good story than a boring reality.

Him going into the station to correct his own description is the most German thing I have ever heard.

Without wishing to be disrespectful to those that died. When you said wondered who could have done it, an advert came up and sang 'Maybe it's Maybeline'. I did laugh.

What you seriously need is a personal locater beacon if you are going camping, hiking, horseback riding, ATV riding, you get my drift. They make great gifts as well for your outdoor enthusiasts as they could save their life or possibly the lives of others.
And for smaller ones, get something called RECCO tape and place it on them where they can't get it off, this is picked up easily by FLR rescue helicopters.
I am in no way affiliated with either of these devices, I am just trying to keep people safe is all.
