Whoa. Quite the discussion here. Me? Successfully stealth camped in the BEAUTIFUL state of CA 5 months with no problem. Marinas, hospital, pull outs, friendly people’s property, campgrounds, streetside (after asking city workers where it was allowed in Santa Barbara). Forest and blm also.

We each should have the liberty and freedom to live as we choose accepting the consequences without conformity although difficult however possible.

It's fun going back six years or so and checking out some of your vintage video's. Many are as relevant today as they were yesteryear...!

Watching your videos from the beginning, just loading up the queue 😊

Hi all. This was a great video. My wife and I are retired, and chose to spend all our remaining time living on the road, just browsing life. Well is seem's very wierd, that the average working person looks down on us, when they happen to pass by, or they yell out comments that we are useless bludgers, and should be arrested. It is weird, we done our best for our country, all our lives, and now just desire to enjoy some of what we helped build.

Thanks for the link. My thoughts on the matter have always been that if they were going to prohibit sleeping in your vehicle then they were going to have to enforce this with all of the OTR truck drivers who do it every single day all across America.

👍Glad you pointed that out. Maybe I 'll get to try it out one day & finally live a simpler minimalistic mindful zero/low waste lifestyle outside of my 3000 sq ft brick & sticks money pit. 😃

Great video!!!

Who says how we should live I came to this planet like everyone else and there are too many people that say what others can or can not do but they are not happy themselves I say live and let live, we pay for everything like anyone else so I think people should mind there own bees wax, lol

My living room changes every day and I love it.

Thank you much! Even more relevant today, as many more will be forced to live in our vehicles, and eviction notices in this pandemic year :( Local cities have started banning Vanners etc. so will be interesting to see how the legalities work out. All the best in the New Year! Cheers :)

I think the overall perception of van life being illegal is that it's not living in a particular vehicle itself, but operating one without having an actual physical dwelling to be licensed to legally do so.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

Stay safe!

Right on brother. In Vancouver it's technically illegal but the police are very tolerant of it.

I think there is more acceptance into our choice of lifestyle now than there was before. All life is about is changes, , , just think, , , at one time we were wandering nomads. We have unearthed prior civilizations, examined their life's and researched how they lived, , , and just think that a thousand years from now when they dig us up and see  how we lived in a tiny mobile house ??

Is that Fiesta Island? I lived there in a RV and now in Chula Vista in my E350 van 😊🏝️

Interesting video and comments. The British laws were not something I knew about. I've read that the average 1 bedroom apt in LA runs over $2000 a month. It's impossible to have a normal job and pay that, so you have a lot of room mates or live in a bad place, whatever, to make it work. The economy is completely out of balance and I'm not sure anything will fix it in my lifetime. I live in a rural area, or small town, and all they build are very big houses. You used to be able to come to a place like this and do some very basic kind of house.

I recently bought a Promaster City. It's much more practical than a truck, and gets decent mileage. Very handy. Recently found your channel. Was going to go with a standup van, but that seemed like too much work, for now. I just got some insulation for the PMC, to try to camp in it. I have the basics and I want to see how well it works. I might make a Thinsulate blanket to separate off the cab in cold weather. With nothing, no insulation, my Buddy heater pushed the temperature from 40 to 60. That's 3500 BTU's. The theory is with R4 insulation it would take 900 BTU's to maintain that 20 degrees.

I view the thing as a good test bed. I think it will work, as a camper, since I've had two campers that were smaller. I lived in a big Lance camper for a year, in the 90's.

I subbed to your channel. Interesting ideas. I think the main thing I get from your videos is that it is all fairly loose and flexible. It works where it works, and it fails where it fails, but overall it can be OK. You can do the basics. That's what I thought when i opened the back of the PMC, you could do the basics in something like this.

I really like the passion of the #vanlife people. I haven't really tried the nomad thing, so I think of myself as a camper. Thanks for the channel.

Sometimes it's just a choice, and you're just lucky enough to live on wheels. I can't wait to buy my van and start the next chapter in my life. I must be binge watching out of order, you're in San Diego already! 😆 🤣
