Most people associate going to Kings Canyon with the General Grant area but if you take the scenic byway down into actual Kings Canyon it’s one of the most amazing places! The Kings River that runs through the canyon is absolutely gorgeous and the campgrounds down there are fantastic. Zumwalt Meadows is a beautiful little
Hike and the Mist Falls Trail is one of the most memorable I’ve been on. Jumping off Muir Rock at roads end into the Kings River is also a lot of fun

As someone who has been going to this area for over 60 years, this is a good synopsis of the easy to visit sites in SEQ/KINGS CYN. A few items you missed were Hume Lake on the way into the canyon and Roads End which is beyond Zumwalt Meadow. I think to visit in a day or two is to miss so much of what the park/parks have to offer. As to the unruly crowds this is part of society today and we all need to relearn manners and respect of nature and each other. Shame on those who harmed what should have been a great experience for you.

I did both cave tours and in both groups everyone was quiet and respectful, so you probably just got a bad group of people, both trails to the caves are beautiful, but I definitely recommend the boyden over crystal due to the water exit path, so fun

I think it’s important that you tour reactors stress that over 80% of both Sequoia and Kings Canyon Parks are wilderness and if you haven’t been over the Great Western Divide, the Kaweahs, the Kings-Kern Divide, the Eastern Sierra Crest all in Sequoia (with Mt. Whitney, 14, 505 ft.), or The Palisades (North Palisade, 14, 249 ft.), Evolutions, LeConte Canyon, Black Divide, White Divide in Kings Canyon, you should at least mention these features! Aside from the Sequoias, the real beauty is is in the wilderness! The interior peaks in both parks (like Mt. Gardener, Mt. Goddard, Charybdis, Scylla—all are parts of the most remote areas in the country, leading down into Enchanted Gorge or Goddard Canyon, for example).

Last time I went to crystal caves at sequoia we got super lucky and there was only one other group with us. It was one of the best experiences at a National park and I am sad your experience was not up to par.

Great video but if I could make a suggestion to the narrator, please slow down. We had a very hard time processing what you were saying because you were saying it so fast. Thanks!

Make it a three day trip. First day, travel in. Spend the night THERE.
Second day, enjoy the park more, then travel to the other park which is near by. Spend the night there.
Third day, enjoy the park more until around 4pm. Leave while the sun is still up, so you can see the views and enjoy the sunset. Travel back home after dark.
If you don’t give yourself plenty of time… you’re just gonna be driving through trying to see everything. You could seriously go and spend a whole week and still want more.

Don't tell people about Kings Canyon. It's our secret.

Kings Canyon is mostly wilderness back-country. Fairly or not, most people want a Disneyfied version of nature in a NP: car accessible, easy to moderate hikes, campgrounds, concessionaires, visitor centers. 99% of visitors will never see the astounding beauty of the High Sierra along the PCT/JMT that this park protects. (One look at the park map tells you this is not car-centric park.)
