Izanami and Izanagi: Do anything

I know a version in which Izanagi gets scared for watching Izanami in he decomposing state. He runs away been pursuited by Izanami, and he blocks the entrance of the underworld, so the relam of the dead cannot live with the living one, not letting Izanami pass, leaving her in the underworld.

Angered by this, Izanami says the would take 1000 lives each year becasue of what he did, in response Izanagi said he will create 10.000 new lives each year. Establishing their roles as the god of Life and the goddess of death.

Izanami’s story is so tragic, I really do real sorry for her. She did nothing wrong to deserve this.

After Izanagi basically ditched Izanami, she in rage also swore that she each day would take 1000 lives, to which Izanagi answered that he would then give life to 1500 each day.

The story I read of Izanagi going to find Izanami is similar up to the point of finding out she ate the fruit. He refused to leave her in Yomi but when he set his comb alight and saw the decomposed body of the sleeping Izanami he freaked out waking her up and ran out of yomi, she chased him ofc. He sealed the entrance but she vowed she would kill 1000 people a day and Izanagi said he'd give 1500 life. That's the version I knew as a kid 👀
