Build BIGGER Shoulders With Light Weights (AT HOME!)

Guys..you don’t need a gym with heavy dumbbells to get big shoulders. That is why I am going to give you exercises on how to build bigger shoulders with light weights. I am going to give you a cool technique that will help you build more muscle mass fast. This is a quick workout that you can do, or you can just add these exercises to your shoulder workout. The key to this workout is using GIANT SETS. Giant sets are 4 or more exercises back to back without any rest in between exercises. This increases the time under tension in your muscles, which will produce more lactic acid. It also increases the intensity, putting more work on your muscles. Let’s get started with the exercises in this GIANT SET to build bigger shoulders with light weights.

Exercise #1: LATERAL RAISES. Keep a slight bend in your elbows, with a full range of motion. You do not need to bring the dumbbells above shoulder height. Utilize slow controlled movements, which will help with form and time under tension. You are going to do 10 reps of this exercise.

Exercise #2: BENT LATERAL RAISES. Hinge at the hips, and try to keep your back straight as you bend over. Make sure you are pulling the weight up, initiating the movement at the elbows. You do not want this movement to be more like a chest fly. Use your hands as anchors, initiate the movement at the elbow, and pull the dumbbells straight up. This will work your rear delts, and again aim for 10 reps.

Exercise #3: UPRIGHT ROW. Again, this is a small movement. Your elbows do not need to go above shoulder height. You are bringing the dumbbells and elbows out and up.

Exercise #4: OVERHEAD SHOULDER PRESS. You may need to increase the weight slightly for this exercise, since it is a push movement. Make sure to get a contraction at the top of the movement, and a good stretch at the bottom of the movement.

After the 4th exercise, rest for about 90 seconds then complete 2 more rounds. Aim for 3-4 rounds of this shoulder workout with light weights.

Light weights Def work for size..I learnt young age 16/17 could only afford 50kg of weights ended up doing crazy reps on bench and bent over rows..I'm talking 50 reps plus and it was excruciating I knew nothing about training but basic movements sometimes trained bench 5 days in a row lol! But I got real big also did diamond push ups before I knew what they were called and 100 reps curls with 7kg dumbells sounds crazy now..I did it because I knew no better and I had free time to do it but my chest got huge and my arms were 17.5" before I'd reached 18..I think key is intensity and boy does it burn..I'm 50 now don't train like that anymore but if you young and got free time and limited equipment it does work for size

How often can I do this? I love this routine and would like to accelerate my results then reduce frequency to maintain. So for the acceleration, how frequently can I do this?

i just did this... i started with a very light warm up weight using 10lb dumbell... then i did 3 sets ..went less reps and heaviest on last set... did around 8-10 reps... super shoulder pump in 10 mins... i liked it... very little chance of injuries, which is a huge plus... thanks

I started with 10 lbs dumbbell to follow what you were doing. Just after one round, that already killed me. I changed to 5 lbs dumbbells for the next two rounds. Thanks a lot for the video.

I'm 63, and have been working out pretty damn hard since the start of the pandemic, and can see improvements to my physique. Gonna stay after it and not let father time make me look like an ol man.
