I like to explain it this way: Before the update, being 50% better than other players was DMG. DMG is rank 14/18 which is ~78% better than other ranks. Something isn't right here... If you are 50% better than other players but have a rank that is displayed as if you are 78% better then it is not showing your real rank.. If you are 50% better than other players, then you should be closer to have the rank 9/18 (Gold Nova 3) which is 50% better than other ranks. This is the reason why you deranked because the middle skilled players were all DMG when they should be closer to Gold Nova 3.

People spend too much time whining about ranks. JUST PLAY MORE. I was Global, deranked to Supreme after the changes. Then i won/lost a few and got to LEM, now back to Supreme. If you deserved your rank, you will play and eventually get it back. End of story.

I highly respect your action here, HOUNGOUNGAGNE! What I would really want to say is that people are being fucking blinded with ELO systems in any game they play. It is not fucking bad to be in a low rank. That actually means that you have to learn. You have to improve. But most of the people nowadays just pick the easiest way which is to bitch about their life being unfair instead of working on themselves. Grow the fuck up kids. It's not your fault that you think the way you think. Don't feel like a victim. Don't stick to your comfort zone. Go out there into the unknown and IMPROVE.

As a low rank player, i don't see the difference. But still, i totally agree with what valve is doing. Making a truly competitive game makes everything more interesting, and make the games more equal, and if people deserve to play against better people, they will, if they win, not one game with a good score, but a lot of games, to prove to the game that they deserve it.

I actually love the update (i've been a surpeme before it, now i am LEM) as there is not as many people that were boosted and you actually get to play with people of your own skill.
