Why would anyone dislike this? He tells you under 3 mins what this is about. I wish those people would leave a comment so we could understand why they disagree. This was a great video!

Great video. Didn't know what IRE or false colour (but knew i should). 3 minutes later, i know them both without feeling like a fool. Thanks. (ps, the music level is fine).

Thank you for posting this video. Great explanation with no fluff. It is also easy to understand. I’m new to false color and IRE. This helps me tremendously.

AWESOME VIDEO!🔥🔥🔥

I have a question. If recording SLOG 3 but using a Monitor LUT (not baking it in), when I activate the LUT on the Atomos Shinobi, do I now use false colors to expose for the LUT? How does that work?

Thank you. Coming from the photography site I am a histogram professional. This little video was so helpful to understand false colors and how to use them if you already know what you are doing otherwise :)

Helpful video! There seem to be a lot of conflicting opinions about whether false colour should be reading the LOG signal or from a REC709 LUT.

I shoot in LOG on my BMPCC6K but monitor externally with the exact LUT I’ll be applying in the edit (Buttery Natural REC709). The monitor gives me the option to ignore the LUT/look and only judge the LOG signal - and I’m struggling to understand the benefits of doing that if you want to try and nail it in camera as much as possible.

When reading the LOG signal, IRE values across the scene are very slightly ‘darker’ but if you are going for specific IRE values for your subject then these will not be 100% accurate once you apply the LUT.

I have, in my office, black and white furniture. Unfortunately, there's no way for me to expose the image without hitting underexposed black or overexposed white. How do you decide what to sacrifice? As a general rule, is it better to under expose or overexpose if you just can't expose everything properly?

one (maybe silly) question but i cant find anything about it. How do i check focus with false color? or do you just switch to false color to check exposure and go back to normal view for focus work?

May I please ask for some advice when using false color to get proper exposure for exposing slog2? A lot of people are saying with slog2 you should over expose by 2 stops, then the color on false color mode will not be exact? any tips?

Thank you
