The kgb could figure out who were operatives in russia, (if they were using russian passports) because in russia they didn't use stainless steel for the staples so their staples would rust and stain their passports, the operatives would invariably have stainless steel staples and no rust.

The Soviet’s were also very good at catching German spies. When the Germans handed over their papers to the soviets all they had to check was the staples. German manufacturing made quality staples that did not rust and stain the paper unlike the soviets.

it is really touching when i see these photos in this video, and the young lady in the thumbnail for the video looking so proud with her weapon, ready to risk their lives to save what they believed in, to think that so many teenagers and young people were involved in trying to stand up for what they believe in and were willing to risk their lives to try to make the changes happen that they wanted to happen

i know it's not a regime i agree with (Communism) but the fact they were being so brave to try to make change happen and defend what they believed in, that is really touching
