In this video Paul Andersen explains how a sine or cosine wave can describe the position of the wave based on wavelength or wave period. A wave function can the position of a wave as a function or the amplitude and wavelength or the amplitude and period.

At 1:31 you have both equations on the screen, the explaination gets a bit muddled. Do you mean to write this: "f(x) = A * cos(2*PI/Lambda) * x" ? Or, do you mean to write this: "f(x) = A * cos(2*PI/Lambda * x)" ? I only mention because after you write present the formula you don't specifically mention the variable "x" or the variable "t" any more. You focus on 2*PI/Lambda and 2*PI/Theta. I only mention because all of the explainations for graphic sine and cosine functions, everyone on the internet seems to have a slightly different version way to explain the formula. And that's very confusing to young students.
