LOL your sense of humour and sarcasm is priceless. Keep it coming.
Given the state of the deck I’d McGiver too.
Cheers

Note to all..."Never mow wet grass". If you have to mow wet grass clean the underside of the mower deck after each use.

You got me, I was going to say you have to have spare decks that you can swap out with and sure enough that was your plan all along. In my 7 or so years messing with small engines from time to time I admire how you come across so many. I have only found 1 at the curb side in my years of doing this and have even put a wanted listing on local social media sites to get no response. Maybe where you are from people just rather dump them.

There isn't anything wrong with an economical, redneck fix at all! As long as it functions safely, you're good doing it.
My dad was infamous for his redneck fixes lol. We had an old snapper self propelled mower from like 1988, and the cable from the lever on the handlebars to the pulley Assembly broke. So, whats dad do? He used a small metal chain off of a porch swing to connect it. And I'll have u know. The self propelled never broke again! It was an amazing fix, and was very durable!
Awesome video IHG! Keep on trolling lol!!

I just moved a good motor to a reclaimed deck this weekend. Now it's just a push mower with a new lease on life. Honestly, it didn't last 15 minutes on marketplace. As far as the cable goes, I do what the customer asks me to do in a non safety situation.

"a really bad case of trypophobia" Is definitely correct between the mowing deck and the engine cover my head is going to catch on fire looking at this mower...

I have one of these I'm currently working on I think it maybe the values after seeing one of your previous videos but it looks like a pain in the ... so I'll wait till I finish the other 8 mowers. Oh and I've used a old license plate to use as part of the deck. It looked pretty cool. I sold it for $150

JB Weld is a solid choice. I was thinking you might say Bondo metal reinforced filler, lab metal, Quiksteel, etc. Lots of brands, cost, etc.

These are interesting mowers. I've tried a few times to buy one, but people on marketplace seem to think they're made of gold.

I had one of these come my way. Neighbor was moving. Found it had a bad coil. Replaced it with used one I had and that fixed it

I think I do have trypophobia, because that to me looked gross. Glad you fixed it for them.

So many coworkers with equipment issues. Endless content.

New cable would have been better but money may be very important to the customer so the wire fix is ok. Thanks for the videos.

Your videos are educational. Thanks. My Lawn-Boy Silver Series mower 4 cyl 6.25HP Model #10335 dies after 2 min at start up. What could be the possible culprit?

I have a Lawnboy SilverPro Duraforce from 2003 with a steel deck. It’s still perfect to this day. No rust. Weird huh? 🤔👍🏻✌🏻

Ironicly I got the exact same mower from my neighbor over a week ago. And mines has the same issue but it's a worn out gearbox. Get this, the engine was ran at full fuel for a few years and it never blow a hole! Though he put it in storage for several years and bought a Honda HRR-216. After changing the oil and fixing the high speed issue, the mower runs great other than a little bit of sputtering once in a while. Likely from the spark plug. I just need to replace the gearbox now.

No, because "Rotary" has sold the cable repair ends for years now. Good Video

You could also pop rivet the deck I have done that once and it worked really well.
