I actually like this set well enough. Probably the first droid build I’m actually interested in looks to be almost IRL scale if i had to guess

I like that this one is actually scaled to the real BD-1, as opposed to the weird scaling of the BB-8 and R2-D2 "UCS" figures

If dropping $100 on this means Lego would consider a UCS Mantis, I’ll do it. I do like BD-1, and as a display model I think it’s great.

Probably won’t pick it up day 1, but I certainly can see myself asking for it for Christmas. I loved him in Fallen Order. I’d like for BD-1 to sit among my collection for that reason.

Overpriced, but this is a day 1 for me . I will get it because it looks amazing, and also to support LEGO doing Jedi fallen order. I loved the game and would love to see a Mantis ship, with Cal as a minifig.

Also, while I agree this character isn't $100 value it does look really great and I agree if you can get it at $80 it is definitely worth grabbing it up. I've never played Fallen Order but this droid was immediately a favorite of mine when I saw YouTube videos of it for the first time. I used to draw small droids like this to play in Star Wars RPG's back in the early 2000's. Such a fun design and a wonderful concept realized for a game. For me this takes the mantle as best Hero droid in the Star Wars universe.

I didnt realize they used the brighter red for this.
Im probably going to swap out the red with another color, perhaps a dark blue or just the darker shade of red.
Hopefully that circular eye piece is easy to find

The set itself looks really good, didn't realize the BD-1 figure in this set would be different from the other one, but they kind of work as like an Alt Skin. Considering this is Cal's specific BD Unit in this set, if it does well enough I could possibly see some sets to go with it!
