Merge lanes to be added on MoPac to alleviate traffic

One of the most congested areas in Austin will soon get a facelift.

Southbound MoPac is being expanded at the Bee Caves Road and Barton Skyway entrance ramps.

The location is a pain point for many Austin drivers. Traffic congestion is the norm there but relief in the form of two new merge lanes is on the way.

Mopac is really horrible.. but it literally can't get any worse than the massive grooves they cut into 183 that jerk your tires and throw trucks and trailers left and right. It's a complete death trap. Oh.. and since they took away our emergency lanes to make room for their toll road, expect massive pile-ups anytime someone has to hit their brakes. SERIOUSLY WHO TAKES AWAY EMERGENCY LANE ON A DAMN FREEWAY.
