How to add resin to wood.

In this video I found purpose to a lid that was doomed for the trash bin.
For me it was a bit of a frustration process but in the end it turned out really pretty.
The only thing I have to get used to is that the resin is pretty high now. But all and all I really like it.

If you have any thought on how I can make the box match the lid, I'm all ears.
