These are my favorite kinds of video for this channel. My reading French is moderately good but spoken French is my weakness. I like to listen the first time with eyes closed and imagining myself there as part of the conversation.

Oh my gosh, how does that work so well? I understood more than half the first time but seeing it in writing then translation made the whole conversation so easy the second time. Wow, that surprised me. The conversational abbreviations of the more formal Parisian words we learned in school so long ago are hard to grasp and in addition, I grew up in an Acadian French speaking family many, years ago and there are words I am not familiar with. Thank you for making these videos.

Merci beaucoup Alexa! As with so many others I can piece together a written paragraph but listening and understanding is my complete downfall! My brain turns it all into 'vowel soup'. This is a very useful video. Watching films with french subtitles and eng(or ur 1st lang) language... then rewatching in english subtitles with french language .... and then in french without subtitles is fun also... lot of dvds have this language facility.
