So true what carragher is saying about going to ground all the time. It's rare to need to slide in football, as a defender you should always try to stay on your feet unless you know your tackle is going to be perfect. Staying on your feet helps you get back to position faster

Best part of cucarella's play today was when he walked off terrible crossing, poor defending . The amount of times I shouted "what are you doing " when he was on the ball was incredible. How is he 50 mil, Brighton finessed us 😭

Carragher is right here 100%. Cucurella is committing to challenges hoping to win the ball quickly, so he does not have to waste energy jockeying or running with the attacker. It is very obvious to see. I don't think Jimmy understood entirely what Carragher was trying to say. Lost in translation a bit. I rated Cucurella at Brighton, but you always judge players differently when they get a big move. He seems like a shadow of the player he was at Brighton

Chelsea being absolutely wrecked by injuries. That lineup was missing both first choice full backs, a £70m centre back, 2 first choice midfielders and arguably number 1 keeper. That’s definitely having an impact. Then to lose 2 more wingers in the first half just compounded it. Was a pretty good performance all things considered, just never look like scoring a goal and that won’t change until we get an actual striker who can finish
