Welcome to another episode of Trailmakers! Today I taking my hovercraft to the Beach hovercraft race to see if it can top the leaderboards on a second race!

Trailmakers is about building very awesome vehicles and machines, but you don’t need an engineering degree to get started. The intuitive builder will get you going in no time. Everything you build is made from physical building blocks. Each block has unique features like shape, weight and functionality. They can be broken off, refitted and used to build something new. Individually the blocks are fairly simple, but combined the possibilities are endless.

Expedition Mode is the challenging campaign mode of Trailmakers. You are competing in an off-world rally expedition with only a few building blocks to get you started. You must build, tinker with and rebuild your machine to progress. Journey through a big world, overcome deep gorges, angry wildlife and dangerous weather to progress and find new parts that will juice up your machine. The world in Expedition Mode will test your survival skills and ingenuity.

Sandbox Mode is where you want to head for an unrestricted, sandbox, vehicle-building experience. Here you can build anything you can dream of, and play around with it in the world of Trailmakers. It is a great place to test out crazy machines, and experiment with the physics engine. With tons of different blocks, hinges, thrusters and interactive vehicle parts - the skybox is the limit.

Trailmakers is even more fun if you play it with other people. Build cool vehicles and compete in mini-game modes with your friends or other Trailmakers online. Build a helicopter, send it to your friend, and shoot them out of the sky. Put two seats on a tank, and let your friend control the turret. As we get further in Early Access development Expedition Mode will also be adapted to multiplayer.

Funny timing! This morning I was playing the canals hover race and managed a top 10 using basically your design. (I went up a league to add an extra hover pad, moved the gyro stabilizer, removed the fins and replaced them with a regular gyro.)

If we want to see that struggle he said...Scrapman you should already know we want to see ALL of the struggle. YES PLEASE! Seriously though watching you beat glitch builds with your vanilla builds is absolutely HILARIOUS! Keep it up sir!

an asymmetric design in my opinion could benefit, the track is not symmetric, the forces on the big turn are not balanced between the sides of the vehicle, i think the tuning should be done right and left side indipendently corrisponding to the needs, scrapman already has done a design like this but overall uses a symmetric design for his creations

Here's a challenge idea for you Scrapman: Finish a race using ONLY idle thrust. Basically you're going to have to travel REALLY slow in order to not fail the start-up. Either that or have a trigger for some logic to have you speed up once the countdown completes.

The devs should just fix those glitches imo. They're might be fun for sandbox stuff but not suitable for this kind of competitions.

i think there might be a phyisics glitch here because here and in the fastes all around the island course video you were dealing with this issue of goijg into the water

You had this nosedive issue in the original video too. As the front turns you loose the down force. I think I left the comment to just move the top part of the wedge to supplement the turning, so you don't loose the down force as the front is not your moving direction to those wedges anymore as you turn.

I wonder if slight asymmetry could help for minorly tuning whether it flies up or down.
