Canada Woman Calls Indian Wedding "Noisy", Internet Says "Deport Them" | Firstpost America

An Indian wedding in Canada has sparked controversy, exposing deeper issues of cultural intolerance and racism. Sadie Crowell, a Canadian woman, shared a viral video complaining about the "noisy" celebrations near her home, claiming, "Everyone will despise the Indians given enough time." Her remarks ignited a heated online debate, with some sympathising and others accusing her of blatant racism. The incident adds to growing tensions between Indians and Canadians, following events like the murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar. Many criticised Crowell's call for deportation, questioning Canada's multicultural values. The debate highlights the clash between cultural celebrations and perceived disruption in residential areas, reflecting a growing divide.

I'm an Indian myself. But keep your celebrations to yourself. Rent a party hall, resort or whatever that suits your budget for your party and keep it private. Roads are for public use.

It's basic manners. People should carry out their celebrations without disturbing others, especially if they are street weddings in residential areas.

People pointing out racism should understand that blocking roads, loud music in residential areas and drunk men peeing in public is definitely a nuisance. Our people do act entitled most of the times.

I am an Indian and am writing this comment from India. I totally agree that Indian marriages are mindlessly noisy, wasteful and a stupid show of wealth. Absolutely no civic awareness that ones celebration might be disturbing the neighbours. Dear Indians, please look at this issue without bringing in the jingoistic patriotism at once.

Canadians have been, and still are, one of the most tolerant and polite individuals and have always welcomed people from every corner of the world regardless of their race or ethnicity.

However, when some people come to Canada, instead of appreciating Canadians, they disturb their peace and pollute their cities.

What do you expect Canadians do? Watching their country getting destroyed so that they wouldn’t be called racist? No chance!
Instead of blaming Canadians for protecting themselves, try to get civil.

I am an Indian..how is this racist? Get over it. Learn to behave. You cannot be drumming around, waking people up. Stop being entitled and giving all of us a bad name!

As an Indian, I totally agree with her. Almost all Indian events are noisy with utter disregard for others' personal space. Stop playing the race card and please get education.

I’m an Indian from India, I know how noisy weddings can get. I cannot tolerate the loud drums . But we tolerate it since it’s a norm here. But the Indians should have been mindful of the norms of Canada.

As an Indian, i support her concern. In India, we have atleast 400 people in a wedding and we celebrate it with loud music, dance but when u r in foreign country, u must be careful about the concern of their people.

It's their country, you can not go there and tell loud music is our tradition.

I have complained to the city about the noise at the Indian weddings. This is a fact. The wedding party continues until 3 a.m. in most cases. The wedding party is mostly in the tents erected at the backyards, hundreds of people attend and blaring music noise is unbearable.> The city has the noise bylaws, but the police don't enforce it . This is not racism, I am from India too. This unruly party outside the house and on the streets must be stopped, This blatant disregard for fellow citizens must be stopped. They can rent a banquet hall and make all the noise they want, not at the expense of neighbors

These weddings are problematic in India too. Joy for family sure but hell for the neighbors.

I agree. Canada values privacy and quiet. That is our culture. If you are in canada, respect our culture & values. If you can’t do that, go to a place where your culture & values are not disturbing the peace.

People are so quick to play the race card. This is not racism. This is about being respectful and courteous to people around you. For heaven’s sake, it’s Canada, not India. If you want to display your cultural wedding celebrations, then do it in a private setting or in India. I’m a naturalized citizen by the way.

If you are in one’s country then respect that country’s culture and norms. As a former immigrant, I think assimilation is a major key. You have to learn how to adapt in your adopted country. It’s not the other way around.

Noise is noise . When people live in a peaceful neighborhood it shouldn’t be disturbed. Ramming one’s culture down other peoples throats is not acceptable and has nothing to do with racism.

Do it private area and not on public places. I dont want to see it either. This is not racism. She has every right to say it
