"done is better than perfect" 💯 the real enemy is perfectionism

Tip 6: understand your body and its capacity to train. Your hormones matter!

In your follicular phase( 1-14 of period), your body is able to regulate cortisol better because estrogen and progesterone are high. From day 10-14 in menses, women actually get a testosterone spike allowing for optimal muscle growth, this is likely when you want to train hardest or heaviest. Your luteal phase (15-28/30) is when your body is more susceptible to stressors and recovers slower. Nature walks, low impact, low stress exercises are best.

This is an important lesson for women to know.. when training.

Done is better than perfect, is a good tip AS LONG AS form and safety are still consistent. If you’re not able to keep correct form or if you’re pushing you’re body too much, stopping and checking in with yourself and where you’re at is much safer.

Exactly. And women need higher body fat percentage than men, so their tips about lowering body fat and workout may actually be harmful in long term to female body. Also, if you choose to rest on most painful period or pms days, you're not a loser.

Women have different nutritional needs and require more sleep. This is so important if you want to see progress. Good stuff.

Number 5 is key to SO many things- fitness or otherwise (housework etc) First read something similar about fitness but as someone with ADHD and Dyspraxia, it was a lightbulb moment. sometimes our best is 100% and perfect and sometimes it’s not. You really just have to get REALLY Good at trying hard.

Honestly I wish someone told me 10 minutes a day is better than none. Many people seem to freak out if you exercise less than what they deem to be “adequate”. I have arthritis and exercise can cause me a lot of pain for the next few days. I was always told I need to exercise a minimum of 30 minutes for it to be effective, but I’d be in pain from it and not be able to exercise for days after and eventually gave up on it. I decided to lower the time spent exercising and 10 minutes and it seems to be the sweet spot. I’m not in much pain, if at all the next day and I can exercise regularly now and finding a yoga class that specializes in working with larger people or people with physical issues requiring adjustments was a major help and I’m finally on the path to a healthy lifestyle

Another one is that it’s common to gain weight when you start working out as your fat starts to lessen and your muscle starts to build.

I’m glad you made a point about eating enough food! My girlfriend and I are going to start going to the gym together this week, and we’re both pretty slim people with decent genetics. She has an eating disorder and though I think she looks great, she has a very negative body image and sometimes skips meals. I am gentle with her, but I’m glad there are women like you acknowledging and supporting the fact that WE NEED FOOD to look our best! ❤

It’s so hard as a woman training because we have to train twice as hard as men to get the same results and strengths. It’s just something I wish people would recognize more. We have to work so much harder. Yes I definitely agree not to train exactly how men do because it’s A LOT easier for them overall than it is for us for sure. Pushing yourself too far while working out in order to size up to men will do more harm than good on your joints and muscles. Took me years to realize this. Not trying to start a debate can ppl plz not reply to this tryna start a fight in the comments I’m just stating my personal opinion and experience on this topic.

Women that are training: you got this!! We are just as capable and just as strong!! We gotta work harder for what we want! In the end it will build your character more than anything. Nothing comes easy, and your training will pay off one day! Don’t let anyone make you feel less than because you are a woman working out!! You are awesome and I love you❤️

That last one is a struggle. Those "bad days" mentally hit hard. 🤣 I was exhausted one day (I go in right after work) and I failed to lift an 80% that I was supposed to do for 5.

You motivate me everyday to keep at it. Always chase my goals and keep pushing because it will be worth it in the end. ❤

Anyone else experiencing a hard life period right now like I am with grief, something really important. Just showing up to the gym or an activity that is exercise based is a great start. Just show up dont focus on what you have or haven't been able to get done or how long your workout is. Just show up do what you can and take each day at a time. Showing up is enough ❤️🙏

Done is better then perfect and tagging onto that concept 💕

Legit when I started eating fat my body felt so much more able to handle things. It gives you a nice cushion of protection.

One thing you might have missed is planning training around ur cycle. Apparently you can get more out of work outs with the right timing :D
