2:11 I like the detail that Jake's ears flop down as a sign of Fear much like a dog or cat

One detail I noticed when rewatching this film and the second one is how their tails move. I love how it flicks up in delight and curiosity when Jake sees and plays with the spiral plants.

as subtle as it is, i think one of the most impressive things in the CGI is the tail movement. when running the tail is used to balance weight distribution like a normal animal like a cheetah. its incredible that they took it into consideration and didnt have it simply flying around weightless

All things considered, Avatar is still the most technologically impressive movie ever made. This is a movie that came out over 12 years ago now. The only movie likely to best it is Avatar 2 at this point. James Cameron is operating at an entirely different level to other filmmakers.

The Hammerheads and Thanators are like the elephants and tigers of Pandora. I love how the hammerheads have peacock feathers on their heads. The animals were the best part of Avatar.

Seeing this scene in IMAX 3D was like nothing we'd ever seen before... even though technically, we had a very similar scene in Star Trek earlier that year. This was just on a whole other level. For 2 and a half hours, it felt like James Cameron literally transported us to this alien world. And no Star Trek or Star War or Avengers movie since has been able to duplicate that

As a biologist I loved the creature designs, they looked really good and they all made sense

The 1st Jurassic park and Avatar are the only movies I’ve seen that captured an essence that was light years ahead of its time

I know this is just a movie, but seeing how that Titanothere ran away at the sight of the Thanator just shows how dangerous the Thanator really is. It took the entire herd to intimidate the Thanator. James Cameron is a genius

Thanator is like a gigantic alien tiger stalking it’s prey. So, Jake decides to run away from this beast. Man, Avatar has some good CGI and the best highest grossing film.

I absolutely love how they use the Tyrannosaurus Rex sounds from Jurassic Park. It always makes me smile when I hear that noise and other movies. A revolutionary film that has broken so many records for its time being referenced in another great movie of its time!

If this was a 2009 movie, imagine what Avatar would've looked like in 2022.

Nevermind, they made a second movie.

2:11 look at his ears laying down. That's a nice little detail

The absolute look of terror on Jakes face when he sees the Thanator is priceless.

4:15 - the attention to detail in this movie was remarkable. He crosses his legs and protects his face just before hitting the water. Exactly how he would have been taught at Boot Camp or Amphibious Warfare school. Exactly how I was taught.
