Apparently the "ignoring" has become such a part of who I am that perhaps in this day and age it's especially prominent because of how the behaviors of women have changed yet my behaviors as a man have barely wavered. I've such a sense of self and I'm EXTREMELY in tune with it, that the presence of others is only important to me if it serves a purpose, which itself is EXTREMELY rare. True joy is within me, and it does not require the presence of others.
