Being the president of the United States is awesome. First off, you get a salary of $400,000 dollars, get access to Air Force One and the fleet of armored cars called “The Beasts”, and are fully protected with bodyguards… for life. Not to mention all of the other great amenities that you will receive when you move into the White House. For instance, did you know that there is a bowling alley that you can use at any time you please? What about the presidential putting course? And hey, if you are a basketball fan, the White House has you covered there too! There is a court that you can shoot hoops on-- we bet it is a great place for the president to clear their mind, and get ready to get back to work running the country. But… What are the expenses of being President? Believe it or not…. There’s quite a bit that the president is responsible for, right out of their own pocket. And it’s likely things you didn’t think of! After all, did you ever consider who pays for food in The White House? What about toiletries? And here’s one that certainly will surprise you… who pays for all the president and their family’s clothes? We’ll tell ya-- it ain’t provided by the US government! All that stuff and more is paid for right out of pocket! Today we look at not only the costs of living in the white house, but being president in general… Spoiler alert-- it’s a lot. When the Clinton’s left the White House in 2001, they were in a reported $10.6 MILLION dollars in debt. Yikes.

400k a year for president is actually not that much, especially for all their duties.

Why is no one talking about how much money you need to become president? It shouldn't be this way. We will never have a president for "all the people" if you have to be rich to become president.

do you guys know that you don't actually need to put that much toothpaste on your toothbrush it was started by advertisements back in the day and everyone started thinking you needed to cover the top of the toothbrush with toothpaste but the tv ads only do that because they have to show the product not because that's the right amount to use

The President of the United States should be receiving at minimum 1 million a year AFTER taxes. 400k is NOTHING for that amount of responsibility and risk !

I'm sure there are many many people willing to pay for them and 'more' in each presidency.

4:51 _These figures are the tax that the Americans as well all residents ''legals'', pay, built-in houses, living in a certain state, college, health, among others. I'm from Brazil, i love America and strong people and culture, however for sure there is a stigma, that we have be conscious in various situations arround the people that run the country_

I would say that Biden went over his travel budget last year as many trips as he’s made back-and-forth to Delaware in the helicopter and Air Force One

What about that super presidential bus that O’bama had designed and commissioned? No one ever hears about it! Cheaper than AirForce One!

They are exaggerating.
It doesn't cost a lot to get toilet tissue and toothpaste.
You can get 4 rolls for $1 and 12 rolls for $6. Toothpaste, depending on what you like, costs $1 or $2 or get baking soda.
As for clothes, shop at cheaper places

You do know that the candidates do not actually pay the cost of running for President right? The DNS and RNS with private donations from citizens and PACs pay for it. I know because I contributed to the Don's campaign this past cycle.
