As we travel full-time in our NuCamp Cirrus 920 Truck Camper, we rely heavily upon cell service and internet connectivity. In this video we share our tips and tricks on how to stay connected. We also share some of the methods we use to stay connected even in remote locations. The use of a WeBoost Drive 4G-X RV Cell Phone Booster, Alpha WiFi Camp Pro 2 WiFi Repeater and a MoFi 4500 4GXeLT Hotspot are some of the items that we cover. We have included links to the products discussed in this video further down this description.

One change we are going to make is the external antenna. We want one that will be above the roofline without having to extend the pole. Using a spring mounted antenna will allow us to do that without fear of breakage. We urge you to look at using a similar setup! Recommended antennas are just below this text.

Wow, I am 66 and all this was way over my head. I appreciate the details that you communicated. I really need to spend more time to educate myself. Thanks for your efforts to share your knowledge

Great vid! The difference between mounting on the left vs mounting on the right would have never occurred to me. Excellent insight. Thank you.

Scott & Sasha, I've now seen enough of your videos to genuinely appreciate the effort and focus on detail that make them unique and helpful. The accompanying detail in the 'content' section mirrors your time in front of the camera, and you should feel rightfully proud of them both.

It was Bigfoot making that noise. 😁 👍👍👍 Great video

I made pre-departure checklists I use. One for inside and one for outside. The inside one I keep in the camper and the outside one stays in the truck. I put them in hand and walk around checking things off. Works great for me.

Very informative video. I feel like your videos touch all the much needed points of the topic. If you could do a short video on your battery/off grid electrical setup, that would be awesome!

Great video! This is something that we have had some issues with on our limited camping trips.

Outstanding video. I was wondering only the other day, what systems you are using

Great video and Perfect timing! I’m setting up a painter pole for my weboost too. I plan to use a car dent remover suction cup (110 lb strength) to attach it to the camper, as needed.

I agree about holes in the roof - we will thread through slide.

I look forward to checking out your other equipment. That 12 volt power device looks useful.

Fantastically helpful! For less technically oriented people, it would be great to hear more, from a beginner’s perspective about how all these 3 things work together, or not? You touched on it, and said maybe 99% of time you’re using the cell phone booster, but I’d love to learn more about applications for the mo-fi and WiFi booster. Also, difference in speeds between using mo-fi and wi-fi booster, vs. tethering through your phone, etc. And, whether it works to do things like video-conferencing, streaming, uploading videos when you’re tethering to your cell phone, etc. I’m not clear what mo-fi is, and how it works ... ?

Great vid. I find your videos particularly relevant as I also have a Cirrus 820. Question: Where is the DC coming from in the cabinets?

Nicely done. It’s a “maybe” for my use. Heck, I’m retired and the engineering work I do can be uploaded, when I move somewhere. I’ll track down a signal then. Once again, thank you for your thoroughness in explaining. I wonder how it would work in an all fiberglass camper like a Bigfoot or Northern Lite?

Thank you for making this video. I’m going to set up mine soon.

This is my understanding:
1. The signal source can be either 1) your cell phone or 2) the MoFi hotspot
2. You use the signal booster for #1 above. When you turn on the booster, you can 1) use your cell phone itself as normal but with a stronger signal; also, you can use your cell phone as a hotspot, or 2) use the MoFi hotspot as a hotspot instead
3. You can also use the Wifi repeater to booster the free wifi signal from RV park, McDonald’s etc

So you either use 1+2, or use 3 to get good signals.

Is my understanding correct?

Can you comment on and/or provide a link to where to research and/or purchase the Wilson 4G Omni-directional outdoor antenna? Much thanks! Great videos

Nice video, thanks! Your WeBoost has an omnidirectional antenna. Any thoughts on that versus a directional antenna?

I noticed that you mounted your weboost next to your wifi ranger.. I understood that the weboost was supposed to be 12” away from any antenna, how is it working or did you see any reduction in either or????

Can you clarify the service used on your hotspot? Does the Verizon-based service you mention allow the SIM to be used for that device (BYOD)? And have you experienced caps/throttling? If so, at what Gs?

Awesome videos! We just got a Cirrus 820 after following you guys! A couple of quick questions related to your Weboost set up:
- I've noticed that Weboost is like $500. Are there any risks of someone stealing the antenna? Or is the majority of its cost the amplifier inside the camper?
- Is there a way to disconnect the antenna and bring it in the camper while not in use? I'm kinda thinking about having it on one of those massive telescoping tailgating flag poles that the base sits on the ground, with a truck tire rolled over it, securing it down. Would that be overkill?

Nice video...If you manage to short those coax cables you will improve your signal...wifi or cell phone...Both frequencies runs on the microwave spectrum and they have huge loss when using long coax cables. The shorter the better. Wood walls also reduce signal strength on this bands. Don't cut the original cables that came with the device...see if you can get another ones and play with them in case anything goes wrong!
