I'm a big fan of fast Diesels. Heaps of Torque. Brilliant for cruising at high speeds on the motorway without breaking a sweat

For the price difference, the X5 M50d is doing very well, only at higher speeds does the superior torque and bhp of the Bentley show

I have an X5M50d and it is the best SUV I have ever owned. Fast as hell and I get on average 28mpg and got 35mpg on a drive down to the West Country on the A roads. I think it gave a good account of its self there against a car over double it’s price.

Bentley should not make a SUV. I choose X5

The Bentley just seems way better comfort-wise. It rides way smoother and is way quieter.
The BMW looks a bit better, but if it were my choice, I'd go with the more comfortable and quicker Bentley Bentayga.

The bentley is so much silent than the X5

Also it should be noted that to extend life cycle BMW keeps power in reserve and you can buy a tuning program [remapping] that will actually make the BMW both quicker and faster if you wanted to and still get better range and economy at half the price.  So much for name badges.

Ich habe das bisher noch nicht gesehen dass die BMW-Automatik von alleine bei Vollgas in den 8ten Gang schaltet, bisher hat das Getriebe den Motor immer im 7ten Gang zu tode drehen lassen^^

If i had money to afford x5 i would buy it but if i had money for the benteyga i would buy an x5m.

BMW tends to feed an artificial sound of the engine through its stereo. Not sure if it’s different for M versions though.
