I grew up a few miles from Shawnee Lake, I was there when they pulled the young boy out of the pool, his mother jumped over a tall fence to get to him but he had passed, sad!

I went there in the 70's or 80's to an auction. Hundreds of people were there...

I really liked these stories, & I especially liked hearing you tell the stories. Most all the words you say, I've heard my whole life. I grew up hearing my parents -- and especially my grandparents -- say the same words and phrases. Brought back some very precious memories. I enjoy listening to all your stories. My momma's AND daddy's family had their roots in the mountains of northern Middle Tennessee. We have Scotch-Irish ancestry.
My daddy, his brother and two sisters all played several musical instruments and sang. None of 'em could read a note on sheet music, nor had a single lesson. Daddy always said it was "in the blood, " as the musical talent went down through the generations. My 4 brothers and many of their children and grandchildren are excellent musicians and singers.
I'd love to hear you tell a story about mountain people who were/are musicians.

I remember going to this park when I was a kid. I swam in the waters there and played on the swings and ride.. I also somewhat remember the stories of it. Being from Princeton, West Virginia it wasn't that far away. Thanks for the memories JD

Good job J.D. I've always enjoyed walking through old cemeteries and reading the names of those that had passed away many many years ago

Absolutely love your style of story telling! As for haunted houses, I have a home, built in 1875. People ask me if it's haunted. Well, if it is, they must like us! Nothing scary here!
