Stucco a Rebarred Reinforced block chimney

Показать описание
Stucco a Rebarred Reinforced block chimney.
Professional plastering demonstrated and explained.
Can rebar be used on a chimney for stucco reinforcement?
The structural engineer did indeed use rebar to structurally strengthen this chimney.
The method used on this exterior block chimney reinforcement was way above code compliance.
Rebar was attached instead of stucco netting. Which was not necessary.
But these folks wanted absolute strength.
Rebar is a steel bar that's added to concrete to increase its tensile strength. Concrete is strong under compression but weak under tension, so rebar helps compensate for this.
Then, two inches of the strongest hydraulic stucco, "Eisenwall was applied," all on the same day by my team who are masters at stucco applications. Jason and yours truly.
We applied thick, back-to-back coats of stucco to this concrete block chimney.
I’m not bragging, but only a handful of plastering outfits can apply so much so well and accurately.
If you are interested in viewing how we applied an acrylic stucco finish over this base coat, see the video below. Enjoy.
Folks, for immediate bids, send pictures to me or Jason.
What we’re doing in this video is what I’d call professional plastering.
It had better be tricky plastering for me to say this because I have plastered everything under the sun.
Thus, two inches of the strongest stucco in the USA were asked to be applied.
I had three truckloads of sand equal to 6 to 7 tons and mixed about 40 to 60 bags of Eisenwall hydraulic cement stucco.
This hydraulic stucco, when cured, more than doubled the strength of Portland cement plaster.
We mixed it stiff as each coat had to be applied at least 3/4 of an inch thick.
To force this hydraulic cement plaster to adhere, we sprayed Weld Crete, a full-strength bonding agent, and sprayed through the rebar with the bonding agent.
We applied enough cement plaster to this chimney as in most 1,200-square-foot homes.
So enjoy this as this professional plastering.
It’s one of the strongest retrofits I have been involved in many years of applying stucco.
Thank you for watching.
