Mine didn't work out like that "Unauthorized command passed" or something like that popped up.

But I run task manager and found the "office click to run .exe" and force ended task. And ended the process. Then run control panel and uninstallled. It worked.

Thanks Technoholic. It worked and I am so grateful. First: on my pc what you were doing was so small I had to increase my view on my browser to 250 %. Second, I could not find anything in comments to copy so I just carefully typed in exactly what you did on screen. Third, I had office16 and another folder marked office14, so I repeated the procedure so that I could remove both licenses. Then I installed the new office and it worked!!

I watched your video carefully and was all set to do this. I think that the reason why my commands were rejected ("unknown error" or some such) is that my license for Office 16 (Office 2021), unbeknownst to me, had somehow migrated to my Office 365 account (note that I only have an Office 365 *account*, not the product). I say this because much to my pleasure I later found that it was unnecessary to uninstall Office on the replaced computer, nor even to enter the license key on the new computer. Microsoft considers the install of Office 16 on the replacement computer to be fully licensed. No action on my part was needed.

Regarding the /status option shown in the video an on your website, in my Office 16 (Office 2021) version, that option's name is instead /dstatus. The option name /status results in an error message.
