Thank you. I have a very cruddy math teacher this year for Algebra Two, to say the least, he doesn't really teach. He's one of those teachers that acts like their class is the most important and that we need to learn everything exactly how he does it and how he did it "when he went to school" (one of his favorite quotes) He's also one of those teachers that uses weird metaphors/analogies that just doesn't help one bit... some of his are "Factor Freeway" "Integer Interstate" "Decimal Drive". (He's 61 years old for anybody whose wondering). I'm someone who's in the back of the room and completely lost in space while he jabs his jaw and constantly talks. These simple videos help me understand it better and many others as well. Currently we are on the "Conics" section, which is not the easiest... So to say that my junior year math class is a struggle is accurate. These videos though have helped out a ton, they're the reason why my grade is still where it is.

The Vertex Form
h = -b/2a
k = f(h)
y = a(x-h)2 - k

EX1
h = 4/2 = 2
k = 4-8+1 = -3
y = (x-2)^2 - 3

EX2
h = -4/4 = -1
k = 2-4-1 = -3
y = 2(x+1)^2 - 3
