How To Fake Lower Frame Rates In Adobe After Effects

I'm a 3D artist stuck doing comp with After Effects, and this effect is incredibly useful for previewing your 3D footage!

Once I've done all the compositing for a project and want to preview it without having the render the entire thing out ( It could take a day or more) I use posterize time to essentially just render a fraction of the frames to save on render time while getting what I need to check the output.

For example if a project I'm working on is 25fps and I want to quickly check that colour correction is consistent across the whole piece, I put the master sequence in a comp called "preview" and slap a posterize time on it set to 2.5fps. This makes every 10th frame hold, and takes the render time down by 90%. I can then spend more doing passes and amends and less time waiting for renders!

Is is pronounced PAW-STER or POE-STER? I always assumed it was poster-I’ve — as in ‘movie poster’.
