Fell in love with Roast Goose H.K. style 20 years ago....converting from duck as my preferred roast bird... very well presented with good examples of the H.K. scene....sorry l can't get it in Melbourne.

As a local HK citizen, the 2nd restaurant Yat Lok is NEVER 👎🏻

Been to Yat Lok twice. The goose is good, but the restaurant itself is subpar. The floor is greasy and the lines are long. I didn’t mind either as I’m use to the typical hole in the wall or greasy spoon type restaurant. It’s part of the atmosphere.
What really turned me off was the service. I understand the vibe HK brings, but the staff there seemed almost purposefully rude. It felt like they were going out of their way to be rude and condescending as if the staff was playing a game on who can insult the customer worse. It was that off putting!
I gave them a second chance and went again a year later… needless to say the staff is jaded. They get Michelin stars so tourist will always pack the place. They can literally curse your mother (你老母!) and not care because they will always have business. Sorry, can’t recommend them since HK has a million goose spots without the cursing of your mother.

Best roast goose are in Shunde, Guangdong Province, China. HK hasn’t produced great Cantonese food since 2020.

There are look quite good. However, one important ingredient was missing in the three locations- the legendary rudeness and some would say, crudeness of the owners/staffs, which I normally get to experience throughout my years of visiting Hong Kong for the past 30 years. I would feel shortchanged without it

Is Kam's Roast in Singapore, Taiwan and Philippines the same as Kams Center?

That's really strange cos my experience at Yat Lok was bad....dry and they weren't bothered in giving the plum

I can tell that chopsticks is not the first utensil you learn to use.

None of them are the #1 spot for roast goose.

Don't try Yat Lok, the staff are very rude 100%. What was mentioned on Tripadvisor is very true from previous customers experience

Some 28 yrs ago when I frequented HK on business the best roast goose thigh was at Lan Kwai Fong, I forget its name...

The goose thighs were excellent, the staff were hatched from rocks with 3000 % of rudeness!

Yat Lok wasn’t even good…I had it a few times. The meat was too dry and the proportion between meat and fat was too uneven. Try those shops in the NT, like 大榮華, those are like proper good.

Yat Lok is the worst Micheline star restaurants in terms of food and service. You'll noticed that 90% of the customers are tourists because of the Michelin star ratings. HK is one of the place you can't trust the Michelin star ratings. There's at least 10 restaurants on the HK Michelin guide that is worst than an average restaurants in the same category. I'm doubting there's no money under the table for these star ratings.
