It depends on how we look at China. One can look at China as a country with 200 million population i.e. the CCP members + their families. The remaining population is human cattle for the welfare of the CCP. So, as long as the CCP members can still live comfortably, China is OK. What their human cattle experience is not relevant to the CCP.

If the birth rates are considered to be crashing now, that is an extremely grim thing, given that China's birth rates were already unsustainably low before this crash. I had heard that this past enrollment year, kindergarten enrollments were down 75%. But kindergarten enrollments reflect the birth rate five years prior, and five years prior was before the pandemic.

If enrollments are that bad now, imagine what they'll be in a year or two, when the pandemic related crash begins to show up in even lower enrollments! And if economic crash birth rates are even lower than that, I can't even imagine how low that would be.

You are right, it is now in great depression. Not just deflation, but this already exist due to oversupply, which domestic consumption cannot purchase due to people lack purchasing power, and the problem exacerbates going to depression is high, as factories cut employment or close business. What you mentioned is not the root cause, but the result of what is happening in china, following a great depression going on.
