Reflection Canyon Timelapse

Reflection Canyon is an awe-inspiring offshoot of Lake Powell in southern Utah. It is accessible only by a 50-mile 4wd road followed by 8 miles of hiking. I filmed this montage during 2 nights in April 2016 and 4 nights in April 2019. The water level during our 2019 visit was the second-lowest it has ever been, exceeded only by 2005, and this revealed the almost-never-seen "final S curve" of the canyon.

Let's respect the area. It's time to implement a permit system and encourage Leave No Trace ethics.

Gear used in the filming of this: Sony A7m3 + Sony 24mm f/1.4, Canon 6D + Sigma 14mm f/1.8, Syrp Genie Mini.

Music: "Gatherer" by We Shine Every Night. Please support the artist!

Beautiful work ... although rest assured, it will NOT be the next Horseshoe Bend, that's a cake walk from your living room to the refrigerator where the cake is ... when ya going back? can I tag along :-)

This is an amazing capture! How did you manage to capture the stars? Is this hyperlapse a series of multiple long exposure shots on a panning rig? How did you shoot that one hyperlapse having a zoom out effect?

What's up Sean, I'm a college student from China. I've been dreaming of going to Mauna Kea since I was in senior high school, in some ways thanks to one of your timelapse videos. Keep on going man!
