I always take a manual BP in all my patients to start with. For new EMTs I feel it is a skill you should practice until you can get it down fast and easy...Evan says it better though..

I believe even the manufacturer says that the lifepak can be inaccurate and a manual blood pressure is the sure way to go

If you are trending from a base, you need to use the same system. Life packs are not as good.

Manual all the time...if you get a high reading from automated, you have to take it manually anyway...just save yourself the time and frustration..#savethemanuals
