What's more crazy is I brought iPad Pro 12.9 M1 on year 2024. I still beleive this is more than enough for my day to day light activity with this powerful device.

Always wondered why people would thing a 2-3 year old apple product wouldn’t be good when 5-6 year old devices are still good s

I’m a digital artist and bought M1 12.9 more than a year ago and it’s really of great help but when M2 came out with its new hoover feature I was heartbroken. The feature will definitely make digital artists job better, faster and easier. But well, I gotta stick to M1 and be happy with it. It still does the job.

Great video as always, sir!

As a multimedia artist, I really appreciate your humility in making this video; it was becoming infuriating seeing how many YouTubers were calling the new Pro IPads “not Pro” because they lacked Final Cut Pro or some version of MacOS. I am lucky enough to own a 2TB 12.9 M1 and it destroys, but I actually regularly run into moments where the M2 version would be faster. I use 3D software as well as layer-based design and illustration software where I am feeling the limits of a non-cooled M1 processor. Furthermore the hover feature would, indeed, make some workflows that much more fluid.
That said, we all eventually choose a moment to jump into a certain product’s evolution. I’m glad to have my very Pro IPad.

Thanks for this!

I'm coming from a 2018 ipp 11", and because of this review (revisit), I jumped the gun and bought the 2021 2tb 5G variant and am not regretting 1 bit!

I have the M1 iPad Air 5, and at 64GB, I do music production and video editing without any issues with performance or storage.

I just picked up a brand new 11” M1 512gb from Target for $250 less than an M2. As an upgrade from a 10.5” Pro, I think it will work great for me.

I upgraded to an M1 iPad Pro 12.9", maxed out with 2tb of storage for what I thought would solve me use-case, which was CaptureOne for iPad. For me, I shoot fashion sessions with 1.5tb of RAW files, and it seemed as if culling images on an iPad would be easier. However, while 2tb of storage is great, CaptureOne screwed their own PhaseOne owners by not using a communications protocol allowing PhaseOne digital back communications (a long story for those of you who are not PhaseOne owners). Either way, now I have a maxed out iPad that only serves to let me consume content while laying on the couch. So, I understand the anxiety of FinalCut Pro users who are pissed at Apple.

I know it's enough for me even without watching your video because all I use it for is watching Netflix, checking emails and browsing the internet 😆😆

Even the 2018 A12x iPad Pro models are enough for most users.

I have the iPad Pro 11 inch m1 since it came out and it works amazing!!! I just got the battery replaced last month so it works like brand new. I don’t plan on getting a new one anytime soon. If I do get a new one I’ll give this to my mom

I’m still rocking my M1 12.9” iPad Pro (with your cool icon set)+ Magic Keyboard. I’m looking forward to seeing if we get a 14” or even 16” iPad Pro next year. If not, I’ll get an M2 Air. Great video, as always, Rambler!

Bought a used M1 12.9' one month ago. What attracted me was that it was only charged 50 times, 98% battery health. I use it every single day . I study, watch and schedule on it. I was 13 when the first ipad pro was introduced and since then i had a dream to have one. Even though my savings got blown i love it

M1 iPad Pro with black magic keyboard. Used daily for over a year and it is exactly like it was on day one out of the box. My favorite Apple device.

I am very skeptical about people asking youtubers if months old tech is still relevant because the year count went up by one

It’s March 2024 for me, and I’ve just treated myself to my first new iPad since I bought an iPad mini 8 years ago! I got the 11” with Magic Keyboard and 2nd gen Pencil for £550 and I’m very pleased with the deal. It’s probably overkill for my use case, however it should future proof the purchase for another 5+ years. The accessories alone are worth £400 if I was to buy them new. It was either this deal or a new iPad mini 6.

I’m watching this over a year since you posted this. Despite the M3 iPad Pro coming up soon at the time I’m writing this (March 2024), I believe this is still great advice. In fact, my M1 iPad Pro 12.9 is much more versatile than when I first got it with the additional software updates including stage manager, being able to use Zoom/ FaceTime/google meet without it overtaking the whole device, and being able to properly hook it up to external monitors and cameras. Due to the hardware being extreme overkill in 2021, it’s my only “computer” that have and likely will continue to become more versatile and better for at least several more years.

Could not agree more. Editing 4k all the time on my M1. Exporting at 4K on LumaFusion and it’s lighting fast. I just can’t see how a 15-20% bump in speed would change my life.
