How to install a kit that enables Wireless Apple CarPlay and AndroidAuto in Mercedes GL and ML 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 model years
The kit supports upgraded sound system for GL and ML.

Radio stereo type is NTG4.5 / NTG4.7

List of Version 2 improvements:
- Wireless Android Auto is now supported
- no need for a separate microphone for Siri or Google Assistant, now works through the original car microphone

The unit works wonderfully, HOWEVER!!!! It is very important not to follow exactly the instructions from the VIDEO first, which instructs you to disassemble the unit and THEN follow the steps for configuring the car's OEM video and Aux and GTA Carplay setup. The instructions packaged with the unit CLEARLY indicates that the steps should be reversed, and the system setup instructions followed prior to disassembly (VERY IMPORTANT). As difficult as it is to push the wires back far enough with room for the head unit and AC controller, I had to dissemble the entire unit and start all over. Trust me, this was a ROYAL Pain in every part of my body and mind!!! GTA, while the video instructions are very helpful as far as showing how and where everything should go, it would be most helpful to make sure that the ORDER to follow them was accurate and precise. Other than that, the unit works wonderfully!

Just installed this successfully.
You have to follow the instructions come with the paper. U need to make sure car can have sound before you install the kit.
I have to did it twice because I ignored the paper instructions.
Very good product. Would recommend.

If i wasn't ready to sell my gl450, id buy it. Its actually one of the reasons im thinking about selling it. Not futuristic enough anymore. Cool profuct though, great video.

I installed the Kit in my 2014 ML 350 on Saturday and I very pleased with it's operation. Very simple installation, took about an hour. I paired it to my Android phone and the Android Auto works wireless just as describes. I do have a question. I paired my wife's android phone but it doesn"t want to work wireless with her"s. Can you not have 2 phones and have it switch between them depending which phone is in the car?

Just installed the system in my 2015. GL63 and will definitely buy another for my GL450. One question, How do you get the Mercedes logo instead of Home in CarPlay?

Do you have to press and hold the back button every time you start the car to get the car play working or is that just a first time setup? Will it automatically go to car play if you were on it last?

Have a 2015 Mercedes Benz ML 350. Completed the installation instructions but I no longer have XM Satellite radio on the original radio options. Is there an engineering mode setting that will allow that function to resume?

Does this works for japanese version of the car … I remember I went for some setting in the engineering mode it had crashed the module … so the question is I hope the setting you did in engineering module won’t break anything?? Pls confirm … last time when it crashed was we changed the region from Japanese to USA ..just fyi!
