I have done brake pads before but it helps to see a tutorial before I get started.

Great Video, just changed my brakes based on watching this. One thing I would like to add. These Accords were built with either the Nissin calipers or Akebono calipers. When I got pads from the auto parts store they gave me pads designed to fit w/ the Akebono and they didn't fit since my Accord has the Nissin calipers. Be sure to confirm when buying pads you are purchasing the correct ones, it will say right on the caliper which one it is. Hope this helps and saves someone multiple trips to the auto parts store.

Great video! Simple, clear and to the point. I have 93 accord and will be doing the front brakes this weekend.

Good vid, but quick suggestion.

1. Use the old brake pad as a cover for the piston and place your c-clamp on that. Removes the change of you damaging the piston and/or seals.
2. Remove the oil reservoir cap. You are putting undo pressure on the lines. And depending on age, could damage.

But good video otherwise.

My friend supplied the brakepads, so I used them. I told him ceramic were better, but he had a budget. :)
That is a good suggestion, I should get some brake grease and make sure I lube the pins. Thanks.

Really nice video. ings thouEasy to follow and informative. I would recommend adding in a couple things though. First remember to check the rotors for flaws. It is easy to run your finger on the rotor to see if there are any large grooves. Check front and back. Second would be to pump the brakes several times before the first drive so the caliper is pressed firmly against the brake pads since you depressed them with the c-clamp. Your brakes will not work until you have done this.

Great video. Where did you buy the brake pads? Are they cermaic or semi metallica brake pads? I plan on changing my soon, do I need to add that anti squeal paste to the back of the brake pad?

The owner of the car provided the brake pads, he probably got them at autozone or orielly's. I think they were semi metallic. I usually try to get ceramic, mainly because they don't make as much mess on the wheels. My philosphy is if the pads come with paste use it, if they don't it is not needed. I have not had any problems with squelling brakes.

Rear is harder, drum brakes. Springs, tensionser, lots of fun stuff.

@sharky322 - I usually turn the wheels, not sure why I didn't in the video. Oh well. Swiveling the caliper would probably simplify the replacement a little, thanks for the comment.

Didn't opt for the Brakebest Select pads? Ceramic is better than organic any day of the week. Duralast Gold pads have a lifetime warranty even against normal wear.

BTW, maybe the 2 pads wore differently because the slider pins were not greased properly with high temp silicone brake grease? Caliper movement was hanging up..
