More information about the video content bellow:
1. Arkhangelsk Oblast is one of Russia’s biggest federal subjects. It includes the Nenets Autonomous Okrug, over which it has administrative jurisdiction. It’s almost as big as Spain and Portugal put together, put houses only 1.2 million people. That’s because this oblast is way up in the north, so naturally conditions aren’t exactly ideal for humans.

2. The area of Arkhangelsk Oblast has been settled by Finno-Ugric peoples since prehistoric times, and most of the toponyms in the region are in fact Finno-Ugric. It was subsequently colonized by the Novgorod Republic. After the fall of Novgorod in 1478, all these lands became a part of the Great Duchy of Moscow. At the same time, Arkhangelsk lands were one of the most remote areas in Russia.

3. The city of Arkhangelsk, with a population of 348,716 as of the 2010 Census, is the administrative center of the oblast. . The city spreads for over 40 kilometers along the banks of the Dvina River and numerous islands of its delta. Arkhangelsk was the chief seaport of medieval and early modern Russia until 1703.

4. The second largest city is the nearby Severodvinsk, home to Sevmash, the main shipyard for the Russian Navy.

5. Cape Fligely in Franz Josef Land (the northernmost point of Russia, Europe and Eurasia) and Cape Zhelaniya in Novaya Zemlya (the easternmost point of Europe) are both located within Arkhangelsk Oblast.

6. Plesetsk Cosmodrome is one of three spaceports in Russia (the other two are Kapustin Yar in Astrakhan Oblast and Yasny in Orenburg Oblast).

7. The Solovetsky Islands, or Solovki, are an archipelago located in the Onega Bay of the White Sea, Russia.

Nice video, but you haven't mentioned Malye Koreli - open air Museum of Wooden Architecture, where log houses, mills, baths are collected from all over the Russian north. An interesting fact is that these wooden buildings were built without a single nail.
