The FINAL WWII Soldier to Surrender EVER #shorts

This name was Teruo Nakamura, the final/last Japanese Imperial soldier to surrender ever. Born in Taiwan, Nakamura was not a native Japanese but volunteered for the Japanese army when Taiwan was a colony of Japan. During World War II, he was assigned to Morotai Island, Indonesia, where the Allies quickly defeated the Japanese. Nakamura retreated and survived on the island until 1974. After he was discovered by an Indonesian pilot, he was returned to Taiwan to attempt to reunite with his family. However, his parents were long gone, and his wife had remarried. Unlike the other last two Japanese soldiers to surrender, Hiroo Onoda and Shoichi Yokoi, it was argued that Nakamura was technically not a Japanese citizen, Because of this, the Japanese government refused to give him any benefits for his service. In the following years, Nakamura lived peacefully until his death in 1979.

Very mean of the Japanese government not to give him any pension benefits for his dedicated service. All based on a nationality 'technicality'.

Possible, but in the part of Russian land, most of the capture Japanese soldier ends brutal, yung iba sa kanila after cold war na nakauwi, at yung iba di na alam ang kinahantunga

Speaking of "Japanese volunteers" kwento lang sakib before, na mostly hindi daw japanes soldier ang iba na andito sa Pilipinas noon kundi mga Koreans daw at dahil hawak ng Japan ang Peninsula noon ehh eala daw sila magawa kundi sumunod, idk if totoo yun

When you consider that WWll was almost 80 years ago, I kind of doubt there are any left.

Yes. There was a Japanese soldier in our Burmese village who had married one of our villager and refused to go back to Japan after the war. Everyone knows him as the angry Japanese.
