Tiger is a good tank but it was exceedingly rare for 1v1 tank combat and tigers had an issue with their drive shafts always breaking

"The M3 submachine gun, also known as the "Grease Gun", cost around $18.50 to produce in World War II, which was a 90% savings compared to other weapons at the time. The M3 was a triumph in low-cost mass production, and was initially intended to be disposable."

The MP40 is one of the coolest weapons ever. Would love to own one.

The M1 Garand was sending Krauts to Saint Peter same day delivery, one of the deadliest and most reliable weapons of the war

Bill is sadly mistaken on the firearms. The german tanks were better in armor and cannons but lacked the transmissions. Most german guns were taken for ammo reasons and memorabilia

“British Intelligence, American Steel, and Russian (Soviet) Blood” is the perfect summation of how we (the allies) won WWII

"One tiger is worth four American tanks. But they always bring five."

Tiger was great tank but in specific situations. They needed long distance. This is why in Kursk tigers destroyed so much soviet tanks becouse they were in open terrain but on western front tanks were fighting on medium distance so it was possible to penetrate tiger

I read a ww2 book and the M1 had a lot to do with our victories.

Edit: “General George S. Patton called it the greatest battle implement ever devised"

It's all common war myths, but they're just myths.

Makes zero sense. The standard issue M1 Garand and M1911 were ahead of their time. Two of the most reliable guns in history made by a genius. Cheap and easily mass produced and distributed to allies. You also have to look at the ammunition. .30-06 and .45 acp both carry more energy than the 9mm Luger and 7.92x57 Mauser. Reliability balanced with power is exactly what you want especially to aid in winning a war. There are countless records of U.S soldiers claiming the M1 garand was the greatest weapon they ever held. Capable of dropping enemies in 1 shot rapidly.

The misconception that it took 5 shermans to kill a tiger comes from the fact that a sherman tank squad consisted of 5 tanks.

The m1 garand which is what most were issued is still a very powerful accurate and solid weapon. No one was dirching an m1 for a fucking kar98 no one was ditching a BAR or a thompson for an mp40 and no one was ditching a browning 1918 for an mg42. He talks about the weapons melting the mg42 gunner literally carried extra barrels to swap out bc the mg42 barrels melted. I like bill but when you dont know shit you should just shutup about it.

How to say you don’t know anything about World War II history without saying you don’t know anything about World War II history

Sorry Billy no GI was changing out their M1 Garand for the Kar98

I fucking love that Tiger tank quote, because the number is basically randomized every time i hear or see it. Sometimes a Tiger is worth 4 Shermans, sometimes it's worth 8, sometimes it's worth 12 or even more. Fuckin' Schrödinger's K/D ratio.
