Aww, Sam. I loved Wuthering Heights. But I did read it at the height of my teen angst back in high school, so maybe that's why, haha!

Sad that you didn't like Broken Empire (I think it's one of my favorite series to date) but I understand why. Have you read the Red Queen's War series by Lawrence? It's by no means as...polarizing as BE and I think a better place to start. Parts of it are, dare I say, actually quite funny.

I still haven't read 'Wurthering Heights' yet, and now I'm not sure if I ever want to. I really want to read the other Bronte sisters' books.

You did it!
Ugh I just picked up Wuthering Heights so it's disappointing that you hated it to much. :(
I plan on reading A Broken Empire this year and I'm really nervous cause I feel like people either really enjoy it or really aren't a fan of it.
(Also, I think we had a different set of questions, but these were a ton of fun I'm kind of jealous haha!)

I completely agree with allegiant, one of the few boooks that I have ever DNFed. Have you read ACOMAF? I wouldn't write of the series completely if you didn't like ACOTAR they are two very different books.

I have a weak stomach and have been considering Prince of Thorns for some time, so thank you for that heads up. It's very good information to have.

It always puzzles me when people single out Cathy as the character they most dislike from Wuthering Heights; but I mainly attribute her actions to her being very emotionally high strung and young; and so she can't control her impulses. Heathcliff, though, is way worse- he spends decades plotting a cruel vengeance against his stepbrother and the Littons, doing so cold-bloodedly and deliberately.
The 1939 film version, written by the best screenwriting team in Hollywood, Ben Hecht and Charles McArthur, fix the basic problem with the book by throwing away the entire second half of the novel ( so no Cathy Jr.) thereby Heathcliff's evil deeds are mitigated, and his and Cathy's bad behavior might be somewhat more forgivable because it can be seen as a result of their being kept separated by people who don't understand the intensely spiritual bond that they have with each other.

I actually really enjoyed Wuthering Heights but mostly because of the atmosphere (I like bleak, gothicky books every so often - I'm weird like that XD). Other than that, I have to agree with what you said about the characters. They were all really twisted and nasty. That said, I think it was probably intentional - not everyone's cup of tea. I loved your answers! ^^

It's off the topic of this tag but have you seen the new Dr. Who Mr. Men books? reckon you'd love them!

Wow, you were reading Dickens in 8th grade? Respect.

I find myself forgetting a lot of Elizabethan literature. I'm not sure why, but I feel it even towards the books I liked.

Ugh. The ending of Allegiant made me so mad. I have reasons that I was super pissed about how it ended, but in general I agree that it was also just a super weak ending to the trilogy.

I was also so disappointed in Wuthering Heights :(

I want to start reading Robin Hobb books, where should I start?

I think the tv show equivalent to ninefox gambit would be Lost. That show drove me nuts with its lack of explanations. I somehow made it to the end but it was an ordeal. Lazy writing pure and simple.
