What a fun experience! I had the most beautiful gelato I've ever seen in Germany, it looked like a rose and they topped it with a macaron!

ive lived in italy my entire life and have never seen gelato being scooped like this. sometimes you can ask for whipped cream but they usually just put it on top so u can get the same amount of gelato u would get normally + whipped cream. this looks pretty delicious tho even though you get less gelato

also if we wanna nitpick, to scoop gelato, the employees normally take some with the spatula and then soften it by kinda ‘spreading’ it on the side of the tub repeatedly, then once it has the right consistency, they put it in the cone/cup

I've been to ice cream places in many countries (including Italy) some even hundred years older then US and I have never seen anyone scoop like this. Looks great and yummy but who cares how you scoop it.

As a dude he actually worked this job for years, I‘m so confused why they first scooped the red ice cream and then the white. Usually you start with the lighter colored ice cream and end with the darkest ones. Useful information but now you know

It’s been a couple years since i was in Italy but you bet i got gelato at like every shop in every town i was in (which was a lot, im talking Naples to Venice all along the way lol) and i dont ember them doing it like that ever. This feels like one of those things that we Americans (specifically white Americans, im white and cant speak for others) do “bc its from the family/culture and its how they do it in Europe” except its been bastardized and its not how they do it in Europe 😂😂😂
