It's a new month, so let's check in on what we're planting here at San Diego Seed Company! Because we're getting ready for fall and the cool season, we're starting the think about our cool season crops here in zones 9 and 10.

This means things like broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, greens, root crops, herbs, peas, and onions are all going in the ground this month. These are all crops that grow when temperatures are cooler. The next several months also come with shorter days, which is a key component here.

I'm starting some of these from seed in trays NOW, and then I'm going to wait on some other things. That means I'll be ready for the cool growing season when it comes!

For a full list of what we're planting, be sure to follow along here, check us out on Instagram, and get a monthly calendar from us.

How about growing tips for your AZ neighbors? I’d be more interested in buying seeds from your company if you sold varieties that did well in the the desert at 4000.’

Dude thank you guys so much I hope you keep doing this, I'm a local getting into gardening and seeing as I can take all your advice, and do everything just like you, I've been learning very very fast! I'll be ordering some seeds from you guys in about a week when I'm done building my beds!

116 degrees in Northern California today Sept. 6 so I think I’ll wait a bit to plant things. 😝

Are you planting onions from seed in trays or direct in the ground?
