Great video. The only thing I had to do differently was go 100 feet away from the router to add my plugs to the app due to 5.0 vs 2.4 GHz. I have a detached garage so I was able to set them up in there. I know others went outside and used extension cords.

Dude, frustrating. Your video is titled '...Pairing with Alexa', and you blow through that pairing process in about 5 screens in 10 seconds at about the 2:50 mark. I have the Gosund plugs and the Smart Life app, but your 'settings' screen and mine look nothing alike - I see no option to pair with Alexa there.

Thank you, bro! I couldn't figure out the problem with my plug at first, but then you clarified it. It was my wifi which was 5Gh. So I connected to 2.5 Gh and it worked. Thank you!

Thank you. I was having a lot of issues setting these up but you made it much easier than the instructions that came with them.

Valuable information and straight to the point. No waffling on. Thanks for sharing. I have Alexa and Ring coupled up on my boat ( I have Alexa and Ring on my iPhone) . Can I activate these commands via cell phone from my house when an intruder boards the vessel ? Thanks again.

Do these plugs work well on a surge protector power strip? For instance a lamp and a blue tooth speaker into the surge protector with their individual plugs?

There is a Smart Life app and a Smart Home app. You need both for Alexa to recognize the stuff set up in the parent app. Otherwise, a little fast, and I would say a better mouse pointing so we can see what you are pressing to get from A to Z. Thanks though.

Thanks for the help. You were very clear at each step. I was not refreshing the Alexa app after added a plug in the smart life app.

How much smart outlets/plug and strip use when off. Also I heard that even power off tv and other devices use power but is small compared when they are on. Compared to a TV off and this while off whats the difference in 1 hour?

Your video kept interfering with my Alexa- when you’d speak to yours it activated mine to turn out my lights

I had a nightmare experience trying to set up the Meross (not so) Smart Plugs this afternoon.
I couldn't get my WiFi to recognize them and they ended up suggesting a whole load of procedures, which would've made the whole thing even more complex. Who needs it?
So, easy answer, I packed them up and will be shipping them back to Amazon tomorrow.

I have, instead ordered an actual Amazon Smart Plug. At least, that talks directly to the Alexa App.
However, I'm beginning to wonder, if it's because I don't have 2.4 WiFi. which may mean that, in short, I'm buggered! 🤣🤣
If the Amazon Plug doesn't work, back it'll go and I'll stick with my trusty old "dial timer!"
