I love smart plugs for the holidays lights. My daughter loves telling “A” to turn on the tree, or the holiday lights. I like being able to have items automatically turn off at certain times of the night. Some people have a tendency of falling asleep with everything on till the early morning hours. I have my lights to turn on so many minutes before sunset. It was great before I discovered routines, simply saying “A turn on the lights” when you’re waking in the front door in the dark with arms full of groceries.

These plugs will come in handy if you went out of the house and decided to come back later in the evening. You could just activate the lights and/or TV to make it look like someone was home to throw the burglars and package pirates off.
