thing is, Steam does detect my PS4 controller, but, in the wrong way... it's being detected as a PS3 controller, for no reason, idk how to fix this

My stupid dualshock is continuously connecting and unconnecting. Usually I don't get any input at all, but for a brief period, I had a connection. Until I didn't. Controller randomly turns on and off when hooked up to pc also.

I connect controller...it randomly flashes. No input. I get sound chimes that indicate controller seems to be connecting and disconnecting randomly. Then controller either does or does not randomly interface with pc. For a few seconds at best if the former. I get full controller use until I suddenly just don't. Disconnect. Start the same process over.

In my case my PS4 controller actually works, but my steam recognize it as an X-box controller while im playing any game.

Didn't work. My PS4 controller is recognized as a bluetooth Audio device. This shouldn't be so hard.

DELETED DS4 WINDOWS IF YOU HAVENT ALREADY. Been trying to fix this for days to play forza with my ps5 controller

All i did was delete ds4 windows and do the recover steam controller firmware now it works

"2024" fix for a video that came out in 2018. Steam UI has drastically changed, rendering this video useless.
