Change Locks On New House 2019 - Moving In ?

This is a small house and the owner want's a re-key of the front door locks, so the locks are re-keyed to a new key and the screen door is also matched. This is a common task for a locksmith. Re-keying locks or changing combination of locks is what locksmiths do all the time. This is what it looks like and how we do it

I know this is an old video. But when I have to rekey crap locks like those. And the pins won’t slide in. I found if you take a Phillips screw driver. And stick it in the hole that’s to small. And put pressure and make a few turns. The regular pins will drop right in afterwards

I had these low quality deadlocks in my house but I replaced them with brava ones because they are much better than that rubbish?

When you said i'll leave what we don't need in the house i was fully expecting you to leave the "whole" chinesium deadbolt inside. lol. I like you keep Gainsborough pins for that exact reason. I am staggered by the amount of instals on new doors with these tatty Chinesium ent set and deadbolt combos. Usually landlords getting out of it cheaply. As you would attest they end up paying the price sooner rather than later when this shit falls to bits. I reckon they are the Romax brand or Ikonic brands from Bunnings. Cheers Dr:-)

We have a problem in Uk with lock snapping so would have to install a smaller euro which may be a problem as may no fit a 6 pin because of length got videos though

As an addition, I always chuck locktite on the 201 screws to prevent them from loosening.

Just be thankfull those cores aren't plastic. That'll be next. They do it in padlocks and people buy them. 💣
