I've got an impression that only John delivers real value on this channel. Real life example with explanation why it works or not. And all of it without babbling about the legendary algorithm. I love it! Please do more!

I think the reason the second thumbnail for the amazon product did so much better is because the first thumbnail and title didn't tell the viewer what the video was about. The first one just said it was about something that cost $50 on Amazon - that could be anything! The second one made it clear it was something to do with getting decent sleep (a subject close to my heart!). That's why more people clicked on it. I'm in the History niche, and the best titles and thumbnails in this niche just make it really clear what topic the video is about, because it's the topic, and whether the viewer is interested in it, that will get the click.

The segment around the 8:00 to 8:30 was huge for me, thank you. Getting thumbnail ideas from outside your niche, but still related to YOUR thumbnail, is a great point i never realized.

This was super helpful and I like how you talked about entertainment channels! I think you guys should make more video on entertainment channels. There’s not a lot of info out there about it on how to be successful, ways to monetize and so on. Most channels like this focus on making YouTube into a business. Thank you for your consideration 😂

While I think you have a lot of great ideas as a whole this does nothing for someone who doesn’t understand youtube. It’s important to make content so you can correct your mistakes as you learn. If you don’t post because you don’t have a thumbnail or title and not script a video is stupid. Unless you’re fully monetized and you’re making consistent amounts of money the logic you give makes no sense. As you grow then the methodical phase enters yes. However whatever works for you doesn’t mean it’s going to work for 50-100 other people. However I think on the broad spectrum this makes a lot of sense but how you are pressing into viewers with the strategy you are offering will turn a lot of them off. The key here folks is do you, find and film what best works for you, the consistency of that and as you grow then start widening youre perspective.

You all can make it! When learning it is important to not get stuck in learning. You need to go out and try things from time to time. But also don't get stuck in doing. You need to find a balance here.

I genuinly hope you answer this question, but how long should someone wait to change out the thumbnail before replacing it with a new one to test out? Also, is there a time frame where it won't matter? Can you do this for a video that is over a year old? Will anyone even see it in circulation?

I love all the advice and have been trying to start incorporating it. I'm in a wicked competitive niche, so I'll need to really focus down and use all these tips to grow. Looking forward to the challenge.
