These days, when people want a meal out, they’re either going to grab something quick at a fast food restaurant or spend some serious money and time at a fancy restaurant. The once-famous in-between of casual dining is not as popular as it used to be, and there are a lot of restaurant chains that might be closing down soon. Many have tried to reach out to younger diners, but their attempts have not gone over too well, and their sales have continued to decline. Let’s take a look at some beloved restaurant chains that may sadly be closing soon.

Which of these chains would you be sad to see close?

These places aren't failing because of people cooking at home, they're failing because of crappy service and poorer quality food that cost more money.

People are sick of paying high prices for some sad ass food .... at least make it fresh

I think the reality is that most chain restaurants forget what made them "chains" in the first place. If the food is not good, you lose customers...it's that simple. Sorry, no sympathy here.

I don't know why these restaurants are so shocked. They blame more people cooking?
No. People are cooking more at home because your food sucks

Between 2000 and 2010 the quality of food in all these restaurants dropped significantly. While prices continued to rise. It was noticed. And not appreciated.

The only thing that's changed between 2010 and 2018 is the fact that Americans have realized that the cost to their wallet, their time, their health, and their pallet isn't worth it. They've also wised up to the fact that the food is NEVER as good as it looks on TV.

Restaurants that are doing well right now have acknowledged all of this.

You used to eat out at these restaurants because their food quality was better. Now the food from these places tastes like institutional quality. I can grill a better steak at home.

All of these restaurant chains mentioned all cut the quality of the food while raising the prices and increasing their investment in marketing.

Not sure what they expected.

Used to be able to go to a fridays/applebees/chillis and get a decent meal. Now its all microwaved frozen crap.

This is just recycling your other videos lol. “Sure you can copy my homework, just change some words so no one notices.”

No applebee's? Its all the soulless Americanized national chain bs that we are tired of. Good riddance. Support local food.

This is happening because the average American is getting poorer due to rising costs of everything while wages are stagnant.

Chili’s 2 for $20 is the price route these companies should have gone

Food is too pricy and of low quality... Could this be why they're closing?

Millenials aren't abandoning sit down restaurants, they're abandoning chain sit down restaurants.

Those restaurants blame everything but the real issue, the quality of the food. There used to be a time when you didn't really get constant jokes and complaints about those fast casual restaurants' quality because at one point they actually took more time with the food. The more they started cutting corners with the quality, over the years, the more you started hearing the complaints and jokes about the quality of those restaurants. Instead of them going back to basics, in regards to quality, they'd rather blame millennials for their decrease in sales.

Maybe it's because these chains have menus that are decided in corporate boardrooms with produce that's as cheap as they think they can get away with and selling meals as expensive as they think they can get away with. There's no love, no passion and people are starting to see right through it and are either staying at home or eating at independent places where they can get better value for money. It's the same here in the UK, chain restaurants are closing up left, right and centre because on the whole most of them are over priced and poor quality. And don't get me started on the celebrity endorsed chains.

This is because a lot of these restaurants are basically the same menu with restaurant prices. There really is not much difference between Ruby Tuesday, Chili's. TGIF and Applebees. They all basically have the same food, same type of desserts and all charge for drinks with the meal separately. And the prices are too high.

Going out: Fight traffic, search for parking, wait forever to get a table, then eat overpriced processed foods which you can't tell if someone has personally "spiced" in an environment of dubious hygiene, leaving 15% to a service provider that barely saw you. Hey ! Sign me up 😃

Advice to Buffalo wildlife wings! Turn those damm TVs down! I can’t even hear my own thoughts.

It warms my cold heart to hear BWW may be going out of business. I use to go every Tuesday for their discounted wings (10 spicy garlic & 10 blazing.) After they stopped their Tuesday wing special...I stopped going. I'll be damned if I pay $11.29 +tax for 9 wings!

Who cares about chains, if you live a real city you should have a variety of non chain options.
